Why your company should participate in Work-Based Learning
What if you could recruit talent in a way that lets you:
“Test-drive” employees before committing to full-time hires
Boost retention of new hires
Increase employee satisfaction and enthusiasm
Build skill development into onboarding
Tap into no-cost partnerships to find talent
Would you try it?
If your answer is yes, it’s time to explore Work-Based Learning (WBL).
WBL blends real-world job experience with classroom learning, connecting students directly with employers to develop the skills the workplace demands. Students from elementary school through college can participate—and the earlier they engage with employers, the better their graduation and employment outcomes.
WBL opportunities range from in-class presentations to on-the-job apprenticeships. Some require only a few hours of your time; others offer paid, hands-on work experience. Whatever your capacity, there’s a WBL option that fits. Learn more in our brochure.
NKY Works is committed to increasing the number, type, and success of work-based learning opportunities available in Northern Kentucky. We can help you design a WBL that addresses your short- and long-term need for talent without over-burdening your staff or budget. We can share best practices and introduce you to a range of support resources. Then we will help you promote your events through NKY Career Jumpstart, a portal connecting students to employers and their WBL opportunities.
Post your work-based learning opportunities on NKYCareerJumpstart.com
Let’s build your future workforce—together.
